Alacrity. Hello and many thanks for returning the test prop I ran my 90 last w/e and put her to bed.... the split in the fuel enrichment pipe was the cause of my rough idle (Ethanol!!)
re US marine engines - for light to medium duty and with the ignition backed off a tad - it may be OK - there is tons off stuff on the US web sites about using automotive spec engines for marine app's and they are more passionate about it than me - but at the end of the day - as the saying goes, - "you get what you pay for"

I recently returned a new starter sold to me by a UK supplier as a marine unit for a Mercruiser, because it was not a sealed spark proof unit as used by Mercruiser and USCG approved, but how many of our inboard boat have flame arrestors on the carbs, spark-proof starters and generators and fuel leak recovery pipes on their mechanical fuel pumps? -
