Welcome to the Spring CMBA rally at Keuka Water Ski Club.

Inboard Engine Ski Boats were a passion of the late David Bowen-Jones. CMBA members are kindly invited by the family of David, for a special one day event, specifically for this type of boat, to enjoy a day on the lake, in his memory. The tranquil lake, formerly a gravel pit, offers 18 acres of fresh water, surrounded by trees and lush greenery, plus a designated area for parking cars and trailers. Launching of boats via the concrete slipway, with pontoon moorings or just pull up on the beach.

The lake itself has a slalom course of 285 yards, with a turning circle at each end, enabling training for skiers who participate in the national championships, with speeds, starting at 28 mph for 20.7 seconds, on to world championship standards of 36 mph, taking 16.1 seconds to complete the course. KWSC also provide barefoot ski lessons, coaching, slalom racing, a membership option and other events throughout the year. KWSC is located just south east of Fairford town, offering, supermarkets, takeaways, pubs and hotels. A Shell Fuel Station and Londis convenience store are just a few yards along the road from the Lake

Entry to KWSC from 09.00 after registration, park trailers & cars within the designated areas and prepare boats in readiness for launching. Catch up with old friends and new members, join in with an informal safety briefing. Free tea and coffee available all morning (self-service).
Once set up, liaise with others for launching, in the traditional CMBA way. Make way to pontoon moorings, rafting up or beaching your boats. Take your boat in turns around the lake, tuning your engines for the forthcoming season, or improve your boat handling skills, manoeuvring around the pre laid out marker buoys and practice docking.

13:00 Stop for BBQ lunch.
With the CMBA providing the BBQ grill and tea & coffee, please bring your own food to BBQ or bring a packed lunch. After lunch continue to enjoy the lake.

15:00 Take a break for afternoon tea and biscuits, then enjoy more boating on the lake.

17:00 Recovery of boats, work with others to recover boats; in the traditional CMBA way, say your fond farewells until next time, leaving KWSC by 19:00.

Please book early as numbers are limited, with or without a boat, you’re sure to have a good time!

What a cracking event this was, although sadly we did not have a boat with us as only working outboards left and this was an inboard event. The place has a really good atmosphere
and the owner and his family made us feel really welcome.A big thank you to Dan and Rob and Sarah for all your organisation too ,all topped off with a really good turnout and lovely weather.
It was also great to meet up with so many familiar faces and some new members as well.
