I thought I would upload some photos of the Moonfleet Aquela I have been working on for the past few months now it has been wheeled out of the garage .This is the boat that was bought from Ebay in March. This is my first boat rebuild and apart from escalating costs things have gone quite smoothly. The gearbox and engine rebuild were the most chalenging aspects. I now look forward to giving it a run on the water.

Wow :perfect: well done ! and in such a short space of time too ! looks stunning ! would love to see it on the water ;) if I remember correctly, was this the red one that was on e-bay down in Devon somewhere ? :hmmm: and it has the Borg-Warner velvet drive fitted ? lovely gearbox, so much more efficient than the complicated clutch/vacuum unit I have on mine :grrr: after seeing these pics I think I'l scrap mine ! :hilarious:

I took the Moonfleet for a test run on Saturday. All went well , bit of water came past the stern tube but I think we can tighten that . the engine coughed a little at high revs which I think was a timing issue and the rev counter stopped working!. The rebuilt velvet drive gearbox is a dream ,it is hard to imagine that I was pouring a gallon of rusty water out of it only a few months ago. The next test will be a sea trial, when the sea is flat enough. I have also attached some before pictures.
