This is the factory one that Chris used for his Merc 500 on the Healey Sprite...is all wrong. For instance, '67, '68, '69, '70 and '71 'redbands' are all different. The 67 listed there should be silver infill like the Merc 350 below

Rapier is absolutely correct, sorry Rob but that chart, despite being apparently produced by Mercury themselves is very wrong. Nymarine is correct.

Apologies Chaps , I thought it interesting info to post as it appeared useful information . I assumed the official Merc website it appeared on would at least have correct details

Glad to be corrected

No apology necessary. All and any archive info is very useful thanks - if only to dispel the myths too.

Alactrity and me couldn't work out why a member's Merc 500 had orange striping in the decals, but thought it very odd especially as his source was the dealer. It was only when I walked into Burseldon Outboards and saw the poster that I put 2 and 2 together...I think may be more accurate in later 90s motors, but don't know them well enough.

I toyed with the idea of creating my own decals for my 1986-88 Classic Fifty before deciding it would look better as a blue-band...
I produced the artwork for these in Standard Vector Graphics format - if anybody would like a copy of the file just email/PM me.
Sample below...
