Urgently wanted!
Re: Twin SU Manifold for ford crossflow
To get one of these
https://picasaweb.google.com/fildesjohn ... 2506074962
you will need to make up the offset plates at 12 degrees. Then get the oxi torch out to open your wallet and go to this link .

And part with cold hard cash not sure Yorkshire men know how to do that !

Re: Twin SU Manifold for ford crossflow
Hi John,
I don't need an oxy torch, I've got a Musto wallet, specially designed for Yorkshire folk, it has a velco strip, a press stud AND then a zip!!
Are you sure this isthe right manifold for a crossflow - I rang Aquaplane yesterday and they told me they only did them for the 1172 side valves, still worth another try I suppose!

Hello Chris , why do you want the twin SU's ? Tuning manuals suggest the crossflow and SU's are not a particularly well suited combo .Think the crossflow will make more power with the twin choke downdraught weber and will be a lot less hassle with set up .
Although the SU's do look pretty.

I've already thought of that!
No "headroom" in an Albatross bay for downdraught carbs - I have a lovely pair of dellortos (jetted for a crossflow) but I don't think there's room for them either!

Re: Twin SU Manifold for ford crossflow
My understanding is that Albatross started with two SUs with their early side valves then pretty soon went over to one (possibly larger) SU as being more reliable and not producing the same tuning problems. Both my 1956 side valve two seater and my A105 two seater with 1500GT engine both have single SUs.

Yes Chris, I noticed that on Mondora when I took photos of her at Windermere a couple of years back. The Climax engined boats seem to manage with twin SUs OK though!
