Re: Steering wheel fittings?

It's been a while... :hmmm: Finally getting my head round the refurbishment of my much maligned Batboat so am back on the lookout for a new steering wheel. Most boat steering systems have a standard 3/4" tapper, there are some odd and very old ones that don't, but not many. Does this mean that car w...

What exactly is a Shetland?

I know the traditional Shetland 2 Berth Cruiser from the 70's and know they made a number of different boats but on Ebay I see plenty that simply don't look as if they are from the same brand, despite them being advertised as such.

Has Shetland become a generic term like Hoover?

Can any engine be marinised?

I have a Citroen Berlingo Van, Y Reg 2.0hdi engine that runs like a dream but is only worth around £500

Could it be marinised for a reasonable cost?

If so....

How difficult would it be to adapt my outboard ready project boat to suit?

Steering wheel fittings?

I'm following a couple of nice steering wheels on Ebay at the moment but one is off an old car.

Do all boat wheels have a common fitting?

Is this fitting shared with cars?

Price fluctuation?

Last year I bought myself a BMW Z3 Convertible (mid life crisis :heat: ) and it's recognised that the best time to get a bargain is early springtime when sellers take them out of winter hiding or at the end of summer before they'd have to put them away again. Is it the same for boats, or more specif...

Re: Metabo sander cost more than the boat!

I have had a Bosch 115mm dia version since winning it in a competition in Motor Boats Monthly about 20 years ago. Brilliant tool always using it. gentle enough for flatting paint between coats (brush) brutal enough to strip the paint off the trailer. Hope yours performs as well as hoped. Perhaps yo...

Re: Metabo sander cost more than the boat!

Orbital sanders are great and worth every penny  but mentioning bingo wings is a complete no no and can put a stop to anything to do with boats :hilarious: after a few days of hearing the sander going with the boat acting like a loud speaker :D you will be lucky if she ever talks to you a...
