Chertsey

Well, what fun! Boats consisted of Shadow the Delta, Red Dwarf the Yarecraft, J-82 (Yamato powered no less), Colliwobble & HumBug Jinx's, a Healey 55, Scandal's Stinger-powered With Vital, Zulu the Tremlett 14, Alacrity's Freight Train, Darron's Sabre (sic), my favourite Dowty Turbocraft, Zoe the Po...

Re: Who's coming to Chertsey?

What a mission; HumBug finally ready...maybe.

Anyone coming up the M3 from the South? We are meeting at Winchester Services (northbound) for breakfast, at 8am.

I managed to get the autobox 20 to run, was the spring on the float caught under the tang and stretched - would not run for long after I had straightened to marginally more than the 1.98mm spring length requested ...

Who's coming to Chertsey?

Hopefully my Jinx will be finished and painted by then; am battling with the elements, but birds, a leylandii hedge and myriads of small multi-legged insects are equal nuisances.

Re: Johnson Shaft Bits Wanted

Mike Vincent at South Coast Marine will have a shift shaft connector, am sure. To be frank, I hate them as 90% of the time they have stripped threads, is brass with steel nuts and you have to make sure is just-so in the groove, and 'feel' it screw in without catching, otherwise you can throw it away...

Re: Beaulieu Boat Jumble - Sunday 26th

Nice to meet up with the usual suspects and despite the lack of Orange coverage was good fun, if a little lacking in outboard and deck hardware goodies. I came away with 18hp Fastwin and 40hp BigTwin test props and was given a 1956 to 1962 Evinrude service manual by the seller. It'll belong to the c...

Interglass / Birchwood Thunderball / Thunderski

Interesting nerd fact we picked up at Beaulieu boat jumble today (courtesy of a bound collection of 1967 to 1972 back issues of pratical boat owner)...The 13' 6" Healey Marine Sprite copies, the Thunderball and Thunderski, were produced at the same time by Interglass (at least in 1967) at the same a...
