Your message has reminded me, however, that I need to update my location. I'm near Wisbech now. Lots of water though!

Mariner handbook
Hi All, I've just bought a 2008 30hp Mariner 4 stroke outboard. What I would like to get hold of is something like an owner's handbook, if such a thing exists. I have searched the Internet and can get a service manual, but surely the engine must have been supplied with some documentation when new. D...

Re: Fenland Waterways
Thanks, that's very helpful. We're moving into the area and it would be a shame not to se the boat with all that water around us!BroomBroom wrote:You may be aware of this - but looks like a good place to start!

Fenland Waterways
Does anyone know if there is a definitive guide to the navigable waterways in the fens, to include the various rivers, cuts, levels and drains? I may be moving to the area and it would be nice to get some more use from the boat.

Re: Trailer winch?
I can see where Alacrity is coming from, given the size of the hole and the metal plate, but surely the trailer would have to be unhitched for that to work and if it wasn't braked or chocked in some way, what would stop it from riding up underneath the towing vehicle?
Just a thought.
Just a thought.

Re: Wich Ride Guide attachment kit?
I can't offer you an answer because I have to ask the same question. I have the same model of engine (but 1962) I have temporarily got around the problem by cutting a piece 80ml x40ml (aapprox) of 4ml aluminium and profiling it to butt up against the engine casing just below the knob that locks the ...

Re: Boat Insurance
If this isn't too late, try CETA. My 1960 Owens 'Kent', plus the 1962 Merc 500 outboard has fully comprehensive cover for £87! That's not a typo. And no survey required.
