Re: Unusual cutlass bearing size???

Try John fildes at Albatross Marine. I think that's the same size as an Albatross.

Re: Bell housing and gearbox for crossflow

Hi I have 2 crossflow manifolds. They were made to suit a crossflow fitted to a Albatross, so the outlet would be at the wrong end, however, they could be altered to suit your installation.

Re: Albatross prop removal

A puller should get it off but I expect the rudder will need to be removed first. Alternatively, use an ali drift. We used to have a length of Ali bar, about an 1" sq I think. Cut one end at an angle around 15 to 20 deg. should be ok. Then at 90 deg to the angled end, file or machine in a half round...

Re: Albatross grey/green treatment over rivets?

I think that will be a zinc chromate etch primer. When it's originally applied it is almost translucent. We used to use it at work years ago, but Health & safety have now removed it. Not sure if you can still get it. You may get a reaction if you leave it on and over paint. If your planning to strip...

Re: Albatross Alpine number 2002 restoration

Hi, you would probably find that the dents will come out a lot easier if you remove the rivets that hold the overlap together. If you then pull apart the joint it will allow each side to move easier. If you lightly tighten slave bolts through the rivet holes before you start to push/pull out the den...
