Re: Portsmouth Harbour Trip. And SunBURN
Very nice. What pitch prop are you running, it sounds quite fine and you might be over-revving? Hard to tell by sound alone tho'.. Hayling Rally happening early in July, not sure if you're working, but if not would be great to see you on the water. Also the Itchen and Scratchin run on Sat 30th June...

Re: Wooden Hoffman runabout restoration
Img_7591-1.jpg What a beautiful restoration! Do you know if the lights are original to the boat? You may have given me a lead on my restoration, as I have no idea of the make of mine; only that she came from Germany and she has the same lights as your Hoffman! Heres a photo of my lights. http://img...

Portsmouth Harbour Trip. And SunBURN
This is the second time my newly restored classic speedboat has seen the water in two years! As I went for a nice trip around Portsmouth harbour on the sunny day of Tuesday! We left from Portchester Sailing Clubs slip, headed up to Fareham and pootled (technical term) around the harbour for a few ho...

Re: Classic Speed Boat Restoration with a Teak Deck
The boat had its maiden voyage on Sunday at the bottom of Portsmouth Harbour, by Port Solent. I shall soon be a member of Portchester Sailing Club again, so will be able to use their slip in future. She ran extremely well, the engine wasn't temperamental, which is a plus and she got up on the plane ...

Re: Classic Speed Boat Restoration with a Teak Deck
Looks great :nice: One question though, what sort of foam did you use for the dash? You say 8mm foam, but was it a particular sort, as I have some carpet underlay foam that is about 10mm, and was wandering whether I could use that? Hi, I used high density foam. But i can't see a reason why carpet u...

Re: Classic Speed Boat Restoration with a Teak Deck
Did some general tidying and small jobs today. Repaired the clamp threads on the engine with helicoils, screwed in the dashboard for good with ammeter, switches and stereo, put two new wheel hubs on the trailer. Mounted the engine on the boat to test the cable steering and controls and cut a piece o...
